What’s In My Bag?

Hello April! It’s been a couple of weeks since I last posted and I swear I’m trying to sit down and take some time to post more often but life gets a bit hectic every now and then. Quick recap on my life since the last time I was here: I was lucky enough to enjoy about 2 weeks away from work, I was even more lucky to be able to spend that time visiting my family and introducing them to Stefan, and I enter my 23rd year of life! Now, I’m sitting in my hotel room in Winnipeg (one of my least favourite cities to have an overnight in) so I figured now would be a great time to have a lazy hotel room day and do a fun little post about what I pack in my bags during a pairing. I already have a feeling this is going to need more than one post SO I’ve decided to give you guys a little glimpse into my make-up bag, my bathroom bag, and what I call my SOS bag. Life on the road can be hard sometimes, and if you don’t have the right essentials packed, it only makes it that much more difficult. I now present to you the things that keep me feeling like myself while I’m flying around the world sleeping in a different time zone every night.

Make-Up Bag:

Oh make-up. As a flight attendant, make-up has slowly become a large part of my life. I have never been the girly girl who has to have the newest eye shadow palette or spends her days dreaming about her next Sephora purchase but I have started to care a tiny bit more about make-up since starting this job. I still don’t carry around anything fancy and I really try to keep my make-up bag simple so that when I have those mornings when I find myself hitting snooze over and over again, I can still manage to put on my face in a couple of minutes. So, without further ado, I give you my make-up bag!

  • Hard Candy Colour Correcting Primer (because after 12 hours of flying I want my make-up to still be on my face.)
  • Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream
  • Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation
  • Elf Blush/Bronzer Combo
  • Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer
  • FaceShop Style My Eyebrow Pencil (I ever thought I’d be the girl filling in her eyebrows… thanks flight attendant career.)
  • CoverGirl Blackest Eyeliner
  • Maybelline Great Lash Mascara
  • CoverGirl Volume Accelerator Mascara
  • CoverGirl The SUper Size Mascara (yes I carry 3 mascaras, mascara cocktail-ing is a thing I swear.)
  • Eyelash Curler
  • Beauty Blender Sponge Thingy (yes, that is the technical name.)

Bathroom Bag:

This bag was the hardest for me to organize for the road because I just wanted to be able to bring everything from my bathroom just incase I needed it. Eventually, I got my self together and organized this bag into the essentials for being away from home for days on end. This bag is also constantly changing, I’m either taking things out, adding things in, or wondering if I should just buy a bigger bathroom bag so I can bring my whole life with me on the road. BUT, this is the current state of my bathroom essentials!

  • Witch Hazel (the toner of all toners.)
  • LUSH Brazilliant Shampoo Bar (buy a shampoo bar for when you travel and you’ll never look back to bringing liquid shampoo with you again.)
  • LUSH American Cream Conditioner
  • Macadamia Healing Hair Oil Treatment
  • LUSH Yuzu & Cocoa Shower Cream (can you see the pattern here?)
  • FaceShop Black Yeast Mask (because sometimes you need to peel away all that airplane grime.)
  • FaceShop Overnight Seaweed Mask
  • LUSH Ultrabland Face Cleanser (I obviously love LUSH.)
  • LUSH Skin Drink Moisturizer
  • Nivea Happy Time Deodorant
  • Drixol Nasal Spray (the key to keeping nosebleeds away and avoiding being congested)
  • Visine For Dry Eyes
  • Aromatherapy Roller Ball in Energy & Sweet Dreams (one for the AM, one for the PM)
  • Winter Floral Body Spray from Anthropologie ($16 a travel bottle, I treat this stuff like liquid gold.)
  • Toothbrush, Toothpaste, & Floss
  • Razor
  • SoftLips Lip Balm
  • Tweezers (ain’t no FA got time to go get those eyebrows done.)
  • Advil & Tylenol

SOS Bag:

My handy-dandy SOS bag. This bag is the one I keep with me in my galley during flights. It’s got everything I need for a quick fix during a flight and I’ve had other FAs ask me where I bought it. Girl, I put this together myself, for myself! I’m not sure why more FAs don’t put one together for themselves depending on what items they might need during a flight when you actually have 5 minutes to yourself in your galley to freshen up.

  • Kleenex
  • Gum
  • Burt’s Bees Ultimate Care Hand Cream (washing your hands a thousand times with airplane potable water takes a toll on your hands.)
  • Aromatherpay Roller Ball in Travel
  • Coconut Lime Body Spray (I caved and bought one of those refillable travel perfume bottles… life. saver.)
  • CoverGirl Oh Sugar! Lip Butter (this one is great because it goes on looking like lipstick BUT it actually moisturizes your lips instead of making them look dry as hell like lipstick does in the air.)
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Nail File (for those days when you smash your hand off a cart one to many times.)
  • Big & Small Hair Elastics
  • Bobby Pins (I own approximately 1 million bobby pins, it’s a must.)
  • Ricola Cough Drops
  • Life Saver Mints
